Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s, recently appeared on Rising Up with Sonali to discuss how the Campaign to End Qualified Immunity emerged in response to the killing of George Floyd and to talk about the necessity of holding bad cops accountable for misconduct.
Qualified immunity “is a fundamentally unfair and unjust policy,” Greenfield told host and executive producer Sonali Kolhatkar. “There is an opportunity to make a change legislatively…we saw [that] after the muder of George Floyd. There were protests, not just in this country, but around the world, and this is a chance to turn those protests into policy.”
